Leader's Corps
Developing qualities of leadership in the young ladies of the junior
high is the main function of the Girl's Leaders Corps. They do this by
promoting school spirit through various activities throughout the year.
Composed of eighth and nnth grade girls, and sponsored by Miss Josephine
Iacona, the club held its annual faculty game, and a dinner in 1961-62.
The Leader's Corps also sponsored a number of interscholastic "playdays"
at this school. To live up to its goal of leadership, the club donates
to a local charity fund each year.

Usher Staff
Helping to keep evening performances running smoothly is the function
of the Ushers Staff. In order to accomplish this, the members collect tickets,
distribute programs and help seat the audience. The staff consists of twenty-two
ninth grade girls who are selected at the beginning of the year on the
basis of poise and self-reliance. The girls, under the direction of their
president Cathy Facent, handle all preprogram arrangements and problems
which may arise during a performance. They can be eaily identified by the
white gloves which they wear whenever they are ushering. Miss Jessica Finn
is the sponsor of the Usher Staff.

Library Council
Membership in the Library Council is open to eighth and ninth grade
students. This year there were thirty-seven members in this service
club which is sponsored by the librarian, Mrs. Virginia Hunter. The purpose
of the club is to hep students and faculty use the library. Students volunteer
to work after school or during study halls. Council members learn to prepare
new books for circulation, to work at the charging desk, and to shelve
books and keep shelves in order. This year the Library Council was very
proud of the fact that there were 1,982 books in circulation during Christmas
vacation.
