About Antone T. : He was a 20 year old Navy motor machinist mate, and was the only serviceman from Bergenfield's monument to survive WWII. He and two other brothers served in WWII.

On September 17, 1945, 15 days after Japan's official surrender, a Typhoon capsized his ship off Okinawa. Only
one of of Tony's seaman's shipmates survied after spending 56 hours adrift.
