Hello fellow alumni,
This year the BHS Marching Band has a chance to participate in the Presidential
Inaugural Parade.
This is a great oppurtunity for the students, the school and our home
town. We need your help to get them there.
The inaugural parade in Washington, D.C., is organized by the Joint
Task Force Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, and participants are selected
by the Presidential Inaugural Committee that is usually formed by the political
party of the winning candidate.
The competition will be intense to get our BAND in to this lineup. We
are asking you to please contact one or more of our legislators. Even if
you do not live in the State any more, your voice will be heard. You can
make a difference.
It is simply and only takes a minute. Click on one of the links
below, select the category and fill in the form. Below is a sample
letter or write your own. Tell our elected officials what the BAND meant
to you, and even if you weren't in the Music programs, what that reputation
of Bergenfield meant to your development.

| I would like to ask for your help with regard to the Bergenfield High
School Marching Band's application to represent New Jersey at the Inaugural
Parade in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2009.
The Bergenfield High School Marching Band has a Tradition of Excellence
that spans nearly 50 years. They have been ambassadors for our fine state
during that time in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Florida and
Canada to name just a few sites where they have performed. They have represented
New Jersey at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a record twenty times,
and performed in Washington, D.C. in April, 2007 at the World War II Memorial
and Arlington National Cemetery.
With this being such a historic inauguration, the Bergenfield High School
Marching Band epitomizes the cultural diversity that we as a nation strive
for. Our students are Caucasian, African-American, Hispanic and Filipino,
to name a few of the cultures that make up our school district. Add the
fact that we are among the top high school marching bands in the state,
and I'm sure you'll agree that the Bergenfield High School Marching Band
would be a fine representative for New Jersey at the Inaugural Parade.
Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail, and we appreciate
whatever assistance you may provide. If selected, the Bergenfield High
School Marching Band will do our state proud!
Respectfully, |
